May. 4th, 2009 12:41 pm Update

Wow I actually posted before a year was up, go me! Its ridiculous how often I am on this thing and never update. Finally finished third year with all my remaining sanity intact. The course load was insane this year and I can't wait to have the easiest semester of my life next term. I will need the relaxation before my impending doom (Law School) hits.

Concert up dates! I have been poor recently so I have not hit as many concerts as usual. Since last year did manage to see Cobra Starship, BSB(o my sad younger obsessions), Simple Plan, Faber Drive, Hedley, Saul, Marianas Trench, Fall Out Boy, All Time Low, Hey Monday, and Metro Station.... this makes me look like a teenybopper.

Cobra Starship blew my mind which I was not expecting. I had heard of them before but a friend said I needed to see them live for the full effect. I definitely was not disappointed. I even went to the Believers Never Die tour to see them... they ended up sick and did not play.

BSB - So everyone needs to feel like they are twelve again once in while right? The concert was not awe inspiring by any means but it did manage to reconnect me with about fifty people I hadn't seen in six years. The concert itself was good but the company and memories made of just letting go and not caring were better

Simple Plan- I love these guys I don't care that every time I go to their concerts the only people my age are in the beer garden. They have fun and entertain the crowd and it is always a good show.

Faber Drive- I have seen these guys twice once in a small venue and once in a stadium. I must say i still love smaller concerts but these guys can pull off both. Their music is decent and they include the crowd of all ages fairly decently.

Hedley- The superman suit need I say more.... I have seen these guys three times now and every time I get whiplash from watching the lead singer. He has a serious case of ADD. One of the only bands that sounds better live than on the CD. He is so entertaining to watch you never notice that the concert is almost over. If you get a chance go out and see them.

Saul- Ok I used to love these guys but the last few of their shows ( local band) have let me down. They have been unorganized and only semi decent. I hold out hope that they get it together and manage to put on the great shows they used to play.

Marianas Trench- I can't say enough one of my fav live shows. They are fabulous his voice is eerily good live and the entire band feeds off each others energy. Random stories about the music and still managing to play a good portion of both records made for a spectacular show. I would see them again with out a doubt.

Siloh - new up and comer fifteen years old and wow does that girl have pipes. She is definitely someone who looks like she is going to burst onto the scene.

Fall Out Boy - I was pleasantly shocked. I love their music but had no desire to see them live as I own the Live in Phoenix CD and must admit it wasn't fantastic. However when i saw them live my faith was restored Patrick Stumph's voice was awesome and not pitchy like that album.

All Time Low - Their show was good. I did not check out their music before the show so I surprisingly impressed and now own all their CD's. I would probably see them again

Hey Monday - Must admit I am not a big fan but i can't talk about their live show as I was in a merch line up

Metro Station - Have seen them twice.... my ears are still bleeding.... definitely would not pay money to just see them

I just realized I haven't posted on this thing more than a year which is slightly pathetic. MLB had the worst start ever this year for batting it was as if the bats were pianos tied to the shoulders of 6 year old tee ballers. Thinking about the mariners season is literally going to make me cry. They suck so bad this year and their bi-polar wannabe manger is useless as tits on a bull. The A's have surprised me completely as I thought they would have a rough season with injuries and loosing Haren. They have played well and Chavez appears to be back and in good condition.

On the music front I've seen quite a few bands the last year. Some local bands I thought were going to suck, totally surprised me, like SAUL but other local bands I've seen lately have had some ear bleeding issues ( not all of them though ). Honda civic tour was really good but the concert i was at the sound sucked till Panic got on because of the facility having echo issues. Motion city soundtrack was amazing even though he forgot the words to his own songs. I felt bad for the Hush Sound who I am sure would have been amazing if they didn't have to deal with the horrible sound issues. On a positive side even with bad sound they were fun to watch.
Other concerts:
State of Shock were fun but had a kinda boring stage presence at their concert. Marianas Trench I would definitely love to see again and I am anxiously waiting their new album which is seemingly never coming. Hedley dear god how does a man fit in those pants???!!!! It was truly disturbing with the Hedley superman suit. They were a lot of fun in a younger crowd concert i see them a again in a few weeks in a more mature setting so it should be more fun. The music was very good in any case. Three days grace and Seether rocked live and if anyone gets the chance to see them go! Seether's new album is a current favourite. Three days grace I've see three times and every time they get better and better. I seriously wish I was taller at that mosh, some 6 ft dude rammed elbow straight into the back of my head which wasn't so fun but its part of being at concerts and being a short chick. I'm sure I've seen more but I'm exhausted and can't think of anything else with registration dates for classes being so close.
Only one more year before law school applications which are going to blow but at least undergrad is almost done. One step closer to being an actual fully functioning part of society rather than a starving student. This should last me another six months of random ranting and should remind to me to actually use this thing.

Dec. 17th, 2006 10:23 pm Schools Out

Finally! exams have finished and Xmas vacation can now be enjoyed. Family traditions and obligations must be met so that the consumer holiday can appear to have a purpose. Don't get me wrong xmas is my fav holiday but its usually to watch the younger kids having fun and decorating the house. I mostly enjoy doing the baking and helping the kids. I have offically decorated 172 ginger bread men and wrapped 500 gifts. I think my holiday obligation has been met on that front. I can't wait to decorate the tree with ornaments that are more fragile than my 75 year old grandfather while people scream yell and critize your decorating design. Honestly when exactly did someone create a set design for a tree? I mean besides lights, how the lights go on, who sets out specific spots on a xmas tree for ornaments? Here ends the Xmas rant. I will write again when something of importance strikes comes up

Nov. 5th, 2006 08:57 pm School Rant / sports issues

Dear god! There must be some rule that novemeber is jack ass professor month. I swear my Calculus class was horrible before but now the prof has gone nuts! Midterms on theories we haven't learned and anything else she can think of. Geo is the same thing. It must be the crunch time before finals or something. I swear they think university students only have time for books and homework. O well no use complaining just over a month left and then it will be over! Besides xmas is only a couple months away and and tis the season to be jolly * rolls eyes* Here ends my ranting.

Skate Canada has just finished and what a horrible showing it was. The world champion cleaned the ice better than the Zamboni in the mens division. It seems the russian empire has ended in the sport and it now lacks the techinical difficulty that used to exsist in the sport. It was classic that the broad casting played after every event and it was in my home town sometimes the media is truly pathetic. Unless its hockey its not worth it seems to be there moto!.... I can only hope the season gets better and the competition stronger.

Oct. 16th, 2006 05:53 pm movement in MLB

Wow! What a day for movement, Lou goes to the Cubs and Macha won't be back for the A's! Brings up the question of who is going to manage them and makes you wonder why seattle hasn't fired their manager. Atleast Macha could get the A's to the play offs.... who knows maybe seattle will pick Macha up. They can't get any worse!

Oct. 14th, 2006 05:32 pm sad day for oakland

Yet again Oakland is knocked out of the play offs with there lack of ability to use small ball. Again I will have to wait till next season to see if the guys can make changes and get one of those elusive rings.
